ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Civil Engineering is arguably the oldest engineering discipline was started in the year 2013-2014 and the department offers a full time B.E degree course in civil engineering. The present student intake of the department is 120. The department has well experienced faculty. The department was under the affiliated to Anna University,Chennai. At present, the strength of the department is around 284 students. We have Environmental Engineering lab, Strength of Materials lab, Fluid Mechanics lab, Soil Mechanics lab, Survey lab, Concrete lab and Transportation lab with all modern high capacity equipments. A separate CADD lab is available with excellent computing facilities. Apart from conducting academic programs, additional computer courses, seminars and workshops are conducted for the students as well as the faculty. The department undertakes a wide range of consultancy services on Testing of Building Materials, Bearing Capacity of Soils.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

PEO1: To develop the professional with a sound foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to synthesize the technical core concepts focusing on knowledge up gradation which will lead to technical innovations.

PEO2: Capable of analyzing and specifying the requirement of the Computer Science and Information Technology system to design and develop methodologies to meet the requirement of the system using the contemporary tools.

PEO3: Graduate of the programme will have the competencies for communicating, planning, coordinating, organizing, decision making and leading a team and they will have knowledge of professional, interpersonal and ethical responsibility and will contribute to society through active engagement.

PEO4: To develop the students with to practice and demonstrate the ability to use the domain knowledge and expertise through periodic assignments , performances and projects to continuously prove the functionality of computer science and engineering learning in social and environmental aspects and to make allowances for further improvements.
