Electronics and Communication Engineering department was started in the year 2000. The department offers a four year UG Programme (B.E-Electronics and Communication Engineering) and two year PG Programmes (M.E- Communication Systems) and (M.E-V LSI Design).The B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering Programme has been accredited by NAAC, NBA, New Delhi. The department has also been recognized as a research center for carrying out Ph.D. Programme under Anna University. The Department has qualified faculty members with excellent academic records. The Department is equipped with well established laboratory. The department has established a Centre of Excellence with Texas Instruments Laboratory for advanced controllers and real-time process stations which mimic an industrial scenario.

PEO1: Higher Studies: The graduates are able to excel in professional career and/or Higher education by acquiring knowledge in the areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

PEO2: Employability Skill: The graduates are able to analyze the design concepts and technical knowledge to solve Electronics problems.

PEO3: Product Development: To exhibit professionalism on latest trends in Electronics & Communication Engineering and to enhance the creativity for developing novel products for real time problems.

PEO4: Leadership Skill: To create awareness on continuous learning, professional ethics, team work and importance of communication skills for better professional practice with social concern.

Program Outcomes (POs)

1. Engineering Knowledge: Graduates will apply the knowledge of differential equations, vector calculus, random process, Technical skills, physics, chemistry, electron devices and electrical circuits.

2. Problem Analysis: Graduates will demonstrate an ability to identify, formulate and solve Electronics engineering problems.

3. Design/development of solutions: Graduates able to design a system to meet the specific needs within the realistic constraints such as social & economic, environment, ethics, health and safety.

4. Conduct investigations of Complex Problems: Graduates able to perform investigations using research based

Knowledge and methods, design as well as conduct experiments, analyze and interpret the results to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern Tool Usage: Graduates able to select and apply appropriate techniques, resources for the design and analysis of the systems using modern EDA tools.

Programme specific outcomes (PSO):

1. Need Analysis and Industrial Expertise: An ability to design VLSI systems through or by Design based software.

2. Expertise Demand: Ability to design modern embedded controllers for special electronic Equipments.

3. Techniques and Tools: Ability to work with international standards like MATHCAD.
